Privacy Policy — Snake

Last updated: 8 September 2026

Snake shows no ads and does not track you. It collects anonymous usage and crash diagnostics so bugs can be found and the game improved — nothing more. There is no advertising identifier, no advertising network, no data broker, and no profile of you. You can switch the collection off inside the app at any time.

What is collected

Through Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics):

  • Usage. How long sessions last, and what happens in the game. Specifically: starting a run (with the mode, board size, map, snake and speed), finishing one (with the score, speed and how long the snake grew), pausing and resuming, playing again or leaving, changing the speed, map, colour or snake, starting and finishing a duel (and whether you won), claiming a mission, and the steps of a purchase — opening a locked item, and whether the purchase completed, was cancelled or failed. These are game values only: a score is a number, a map is a name. Used to see which parts of the game people actually play, and where they get stuck.
  • Crash and performance diagnostics. Stack traces when the app crashes, plus the device model, iOS version and app version needed to reproduce the problem.
  • A random app-instance identifier generated by Firebase, so repeat sessions from the same installation can be counted once. It is not your Apple Account, your name, your email address, or your device's advertising identifier. Deleting and reinstalling the app generates a new one.

The app never asks who you are and never sets a user identifier, so this data is not linked to your identity.

What is NOT collected

  • No advertising identifier (IDFA) and no advertising SDK of any kind.
  • No tracking across other apps or websites — which is why the app never shows the "Allow tracking?" prompt.
  • No name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location.
  • No account: this version has no sign-in, no online leaderboard and no cloud save.
  • Nothing is ever sold or shared with data brokers.

Turning it off

Open SETTINGS ▸ ANALYTICS in the app and switch it off. Collection stops; crash reporting stops from the next launch. The game is fully playable either way, and nothing is withheld from you for opting out.

What stays on your device

This is never uploaded, and we have no way to read it:

  • your high scores and game statistics;
  • your settings (speed, theme, ghosting, haptics, notification and analytics preferences);
  • snake designs you create and cosmetics you have unlocked;
  • mission and achievement progress.

Deleting the app removes all of it.

Other network activity

  • Nearby duel. A one-on-one match with someone on the same local Wi-Fi. Your device exchanges game moves directly with theirs. No server of ours is involved and nothing is stored.
  • Game Center duel. Matchmaking is Apple's, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy rather than this one.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details, name, email address or Apple Account. The app asks StoreKit whether this Apple Account owns the purchase and unlocks the content if it does — that check happens on your device.

Notifications

The app can send local reminders. They are scheduled on your device by the app itself; they are not push notifications, no server is involved, and no information leaves your device to produce them. Turn them off in the app's settings or in iOS Settings.

Who processes the data, and where

SniffNCode is the data controller. Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC acts as our processor for Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics and may process the data outside the European Economic Area, under Google's standard contractual clauses. See Firebase privacy and security.

How long it is kept

Analytics data is retained for the limited period configured in our Firebase project, after which it is deleted or exists only in aggregate counts that identify no one. Crash reports are retained for approximately 90 days.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you, and you may object to processing. Because the analytics data is pseudonymous and holds nothing that identifies you, we usually cannot connect it to a person on request — the effective controls are the in-app switch described above, and reinstalling the app to reset the identifier. For anything else, write to us at the address below. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone. A parental check is shown before any real-money purchase.

This website

sniffncode.com uses privacy-friendly, cookieless visitor analytics to count page views. It does not set advertising cookies and does not track you across other sites.

Changes

If a future version introduces features that collect more — for example an online leaderboard, which would involve an account and a public nickname — this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the App Store privacy information for the app will be updated to match.
